Happy Birthday Daddy!!

This weekend we went to the family lakehouse at Lake Wedowee for Bill's birthday. His birthday was on Saturday and he turned the Big 32!! All of the family came up for the weekend and we had a blast! It was Allie's first time to the lake, but she did really well.
Bill's memaw got sick last night though, and had to go to the ER in Wedowee. She was admitted and they are trying to figure out what is wrong. We all hope that she gets to feeling better soon.

Simming in the Lake

Allie wasn't too sure about getting in the water, but once she did, she did fine. When we told her that the fish like to nibble on your toes, she was done.

Drivin' the Boat

Allie had a great time at the lake this weekend. She got to be the captain of her Grandaddy's boat and drive it for him. Cindy and Thomas are keeping an eye on her though.

I think that next time she will be ready to go tubing!

Myrtle Beach, SC

We were not too impressed with the beaches there. They are just not like our beautiful AL and FL beaches. We stayed on the 20th floor of our hotel. These were taken off the balcony.

At the Roadies Show

These are pictures taken right after the proposal. They were presented with his/her guitars, T-shirts and other things from the Theme Park. It was really cool.

Do I Have a Story to Tell!!!

Where to begin......Well, I had taken off work last Thursday & Friday so Allie and I could go to the beach with my parents and my sister Jessica. My hubby & Jess' hubby couldn't go since they had to work. My other sister Joana had gone to Myrtle Beach, SC with her boyfriend and his family for their family vacation. Her boyfriend, Stephen, has a sister that lives there so they had gone for a visit.
We get in the car on Thursday and everything is looking good. We are headed to PC Beach for a couple of days to relax and have some fun. Well, my dad gets onto I-459 (for those of you in Bham) and we are really confused at this point. He then proceeds to tell us that we are going through Atlanta via the beach. We think he has lost his mind now!! Then my mom turns around and says, "Surprise!! Change of plans! We are going to Myrtle Beach - Your sister is getting engaged!!" We sat there in silence. Apparently they had known about this for 3 weeks and had kept it a secret the whole time. Joana didn't even know we were coming! So, after a 10 hour drive (with a 2 year old) we arrive in Myrtle Beach Thursday night. Stephen was to propose to her on Friday - 8/1.
Here is what happened: Stephen had contacted the Hard Rock Theme Park in Myrtle Beach, told them when he was going to be there and that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend at one of the shows at the theme park. He told mom and dad what was going on and wanted us to be there to surprise her at the show. So mom contacted the PR lady at the theme park, and they set everything up. The theme park was now calling this - Operation Pop the Question! They invited the press to come and interview Jo and Stephen and had lots of things made up to give them. (BTW, we were on the 6:00 news in SC.)
We arrived at the park on Friday afternoon, the show was to start at 1:45 eastern. Stephen, Jo and his family were already there riding the rides. We were taken in the back way through the operations center of the park and they hid us on the side of the amphitheatre until Jo and Stephen had been seated. The show was the Superstars of Rock show and it was really good. Before the show started, they brought Stephen up as a VIP guest and said that he needed to say something. At this point they were walking us around to watch. Stephen got down on one knee and proposed right there in front of 300 people. It was pretty cool!! Joana was so excited!! Then she saw us and was even more excited! She said, "Is this really happening to me!" Oh, and she said yes!!
I have pictures to put up, so I will do that later. My baby sis is engaged and we are so excited! We all love Stephen to death and are excited to welcome him into our family. No date has been set yet, they are still talking about it. I have a feeling it will be sometime next year.
